Grade 4 BIO

Hello Everyone…I am excited about returning to teach another year here at Coyote Creek Elementary School. I've been teaching here since 2006. It is wonderful to be a member of the 4th Grade Team and a part the supportive Coyote Creek community.  I look forward to a positive year filled with many memories and learning experiences.  My goal is that each of my students try something new and become respectful, independent learners, while having fun.

When I am not at school, I enjoy time at home with my family, pets, and friends.  I love to read books, travel, hike, go for long walks, and see movies. I know this year will be successful and look forward to meeting you.

I am thrilled to return to Coyote Creek. Coyote Creek is a great place to learn and grow because of the dedicated staff and wonderful parent community!

I received my Bachelor's Degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the University of the Pacific. After graduating, I decided to return to the Bay Area. I taught in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District for a couple of years before making the decision to come to the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Teaching kids to love learning and to be kind people are my main goals as a teacher and I can't wait to work with all of my students and families towards those goals!

Outside of teaching I can often be found rooting for the San Francisco Giants, traveling, reading, and spending time with my friends and family.

To put it simply, I really enjoy teaching.  I love to work with children, to expand their minds with new ideas and  earning, to bring children together in a caring class community.  I feel very lucky to spend my days in the company of enthusiastic, bright, innocent yet wise young people.  Coyote Creek is an excellent school and it is a great joy to work here.  I enjoy travel, the arts, languages, and life in the Bay Area.  I look forward to knowing you!

I love being a part of the Coyote Creek family and am thrilled to be back in 4th grade this year.  My previous teaching years were in Foster City where I taught for the San Mateo/Foster City School District in both 2nd and 4th grade, and for the Central Valley School District in Spokane, WA where I taught K and 5th grade.  I received my Bachelors degree from Carroll in Elementary Education with a Minor in Reading and my Masters in Education from Gonzaga University (GO ZAGS!).  In my classroom, I want my students to feel successful as they build their foundation of learning while exploring and sharing with others.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trying out new recipes, and traveling.  I'm looking forward to yet another fantastic year!

I am so excited to join the pack this year at Coyote Creek! After graduating college with my teaching credential this May, I am so excited to jump into the role of fourth grade teacher.

I grew up in Danville and went to school in this district, until moving to Santa Barbara to attend Westmont College. There I earned my degree in Liberal Studies and my California teaching credential. Among my long list of “favorites” are my parents and two sisters, my energetic dogs, traveling, any outdoor activities, playing sports with friends, reading a good book, and listening to music. Since finishing school, I moved back to the Bay Area and have enjoyed spending time with my family and meeting new friends in the area.

My experiences teaching elementary students has involved a wide range of activities, including summer camps, mission trips, and pre-professional work in Santa Barbara. I love to be creative, help others, and share my passions. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by a great team of teachers and a beautiful campus, and I am so excited for this year in fourth grade!
