Gifted and Talented Education Program

IN-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:

  • Word Master’s Challenge (3x year)
  • Geography Bee,  4th /5th graders

OUTSIDE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:

  • Math Olympiad, 4th/5th graders (Oct-Mar), Donation - TBD
  • Continental Math, 3rd grade only (Jan-Feb)
  • Career Insight Morning (i.e. career info from parent speaker)
  • End of Year Party

IN-HOUSE FIELD TRIPS (run by Children's Discovery Museum in the MPR):

(We have a 3-year rotation cycle so that the 3-5th graders won’t repeat the same field trip.)

Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is used to initially identify students who are eligible for the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program. This test consists of three batteries, which measure verbal, quantitative and nonverbal abilities.  For more information, click here.

Students in third and fourth grade that would like to test for eligibility for GATE need to visit the SRVUSD website.
