I am very excited to be returning to Coyote Creek and joining the third grade team. I consider myself very fortunate to be working and living in thiscommunity. I was born and raised in New york where I received my Bachelors Degree in Education with a Minor in Psychology. I moved to California in 2002 and obtained my Masters through Saint Marys College of California. I have been teaching since 2001and have had the opportunity to teach in New York, San Francisco and San Ramon. I currently live in San Ramon with my husband and our two energetic boys.

Coyote Creek is a wonderful school to teach for, I love creating magical learning moments and community.  Having grown up in the East Bay, I was very involved with serving and always returned to my elementary school as a teacher’s helper, intern and student teacher. Becoming a teacher just always seemed natural. I studied at UC Berkeley for my bachelor’s degree with my graduate studies in Education from San Francisco State University and California State East Bay.

Alongside raising three children, teaching has brought me many wonderful opportunities.  For the SRVUSD, I’ve taught 5th grade at Coyote Creek and several years at Windemere Ranch Middle School teaching performing and visual art electives and 6th Grade Core. Prior to this, I was a 4th grade teacher in Danville, a Dance and P.E. teacher at Las Positas College, and a first grade teacher in San Lorenzo and San Leandro.

As a member of the community, I have been lucky to share my passion of dance by owning my own dance studio, choreographing and directing musicals for various schools and companies and performing professionally for corporate events and theater companies.

In my spare time, I enjoy strolling on the beach with my husband and our little dog as well as hosting get-togethers and listening to music. My happy place is sharing experiences with others, I am thankful to spend my day doing what I love.

I am thrilled to be teaching third grade at Coyote Creek and to be part of such a warm and dynamic community.  Coyote Creek is a wonderful place to teach and learn, and I feel lucky to be in this profession doing what I love.  I strive to create a caring, safe, and engaging learning environment, which encourages students to believe in themselves and to do their personal best.

I grew up in Sacramento and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento.  After graduating, I moved to the Bay Area and earned my teaching credential from Cal State Hayward.  I have been teaching third grade at Coyote Creek since 2007.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with my three young adult children, family and friends.

It is always exciting to return and work with the amazing "pack” at Coyote Creek. I’ve been teaching since 2001 and teaching 4th grade at Coyote Creek since 2007.  I have served as reading intervention teacher for a year and have taught fourth grade since 2002 in San Diego and San Ramon.  I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies at University of California, Riverside, and my teaching credential at Cal State University, San Marcos.  I continued my education and earned my M.A. in Education.

My passion is teaching and motivating children to become independent and lifelong learners.  I enjoy working in a caring and respectful classroom where students are encouraged to think, share, and have fun! I look forward to a wonderful year filled with curiosity and learning.

Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy shopping, reading, cooking, and traveling.
